Weddings:
We are very lucky to have found a lovely lady, Pamela Gray, who is not only a Marriage Celebrant but also a Buddhist. To quote Pamela, "I was drawn to being a celebrant by a longing to create and be involved in beautiful rituals that are personal and meaningful." Pamela is a very caring, compassionate person who goes to the utmost to make your Wedding a beautiful and special occasion.
Buddhist Weddings:
Buddhist Sangha are not Marriage Celebrants and have been discouraged from becoming celebrants but I can attend your Wedding to give a Buddhist Blessing. Pamela Gray or any other Celebrant of your choice can conduct the wedding and it will be arranged for me to attend and give the blessing. The Ceremony can be decorated with Prayer Flags, a Buddhist Altar if you wish and special Buddhist Rituals can be conducted involving both sets of parents as well as the Bride and Groom. You can make it as Buddhist as you wish or just a little!
Funerals:
Pamela Gray also conducts Funerals and and I can attend to either speak as a Buddhist or say whatever Buddhist Prayers you wish. This is usually only performed when the deceased was a practising Buddhist or if a close relative of the deceased is a practising Buddhist. Please remember that in Buddhism, the wishes and spiritual beliefs of the deceased are considered first priority.
Please contact Pamelay Gray direct for either Weddings or Funerals. She can be contacted on 0439 493 737 or by email at pam@creatingceremonies.com.au. However, please check out her website www.creatingceremonies.com.au. You will find all the information you need there.
Baby or Children Blessings:
If you wish to have a Buddhist Blessing Ceremony after your child is born, I can also do this for you. The Blessing can be conducted for a newborn baby and/or for older children as well. and it can involve more than one child at the ceremony. For example, you may wish your newborn baby to be blessed together with its siblings at the same time. It is usually conducted in your home, garden or a special place like a park or playground with your friends and relatives. I would want to set up a small altar and the space can be as Buddhist as you wish or not at all.
This Buddhist Blessing would involve both sets of parents and a couple of close friends or relatives of each child in the ceremony. If the child is old enough to read, he/she can do their own part otherwise this is done by someone else on their behalf.
House or Home Blessings:
You may wish your (new) home to be blessed and I can also do this for you.
For any of the above blessings, please contact me at yangchen@meditationintheshire.com or telephone me on 9589 0334 and we can arrange to meet and discuss what you want me to do.
